What is the prostate?

The prostate is a small muscular gland that lies between the rectum and the bladder, a few centimeters from the anus. The prostate has a reproductive function since it secretes a fluid contained in the sperm, but it is also a great pleasure trigger! That's why we also talk about this famous P spot!

Exploring prostate pleasure is something to be shared with your partner, regardless of your sexual orientation (you just have to have a prostate!). Before you rush in head first (or butt first), here are a few tips to help you get the best experience possible.

How to prepare to discover prostatic pleasure?

Going to meet your prostate is like anything else you don't know, you have to prepare yourself a little!

Sharing practice as a couple

Don't be afraid to share your interest in this intimate experience and bring the subject up. Start the conversation in a quiet moment, during a walk or over coffee for example.
Having your partner's free and informed consent is imperative, so let the idea sink in without insisting. You can reassure your partner by accompanying him/her in his/her reflection, by sharing interesting readings and by trying to find answers to his/her possible questions.

Prepare the experiment

The anal region is very sensitive and gathers many nerve endings. Some precautions and a good preparation are thus essential: wash your hands and avoid long nails.
Also think of protecting yourself in a way adapted to your situation, and especially not of going back and forth: it is the golden rule when one ventures on this territory. Anything that has penetrated the anus (finger, sextoy) must not be introduced into another orifice without first being cleaned.
And above all, don't forget to keep your lubricant at hand!

Take your time

You don't have to start with someone, you can take it easy and explore solo. This will allow you to become familiar with the different sensations that this exploration gives you. Start by locating your prostate with one or more of your fingers, then if and when you feel like it, you can also use adapted accessories (see below)
Go at your own pace, depending on what feels good and what you want. Whether you are alone or accompanied, don't rush, and if you don't feel like using accessories, that's perfectly okay! You can also increase your excitement by using other erogenous zones or by appealing to your erotic imagination.

Communicate, communicate, communicate

Whether it is your first experience or your ninth, communication is your ally. Share what you feel, confirm that a certain gesture feels good, or conversely that a certain position is not comfortable. You can agree on a "safe word" that will allow you to end the relationship with a single word.

Prostate massage in practice

There is no one right way to discover the joys of prostate stimulation, on the contrary, take the opportunity to try a lot of variations!

  • movements: make circular movements with one or two fingers, varying the rhythm, speed and intensity of the pressure
  • positions: lying on your back with your legs up; lying on your stomach; lying on your side with one or two legs bent; lying on your hands and knees... the important thing is that the position is comfortable for everyone involved!
  • accessories: there are a variety of prostate stimulators, vibrating or not, of different sizes; you can use the sex toys that will do you the most good (anal plugs and rosaries, strap-ons...) the important thing is to always use sex toys with a wide base so that the powerful muscles of the rectum do not "suck" the toy!

The prostate is still a taboo area, especially in heterosexual couples. If we talk to you about it, it's precisely to contribute to break this taboo, because we know that it's a rich experience in pleasure. And of course, nothing forces you to want to try it!
